Golf outings are not just for golf....they are much more than that!

Maybe golfing is just an excuse to get away, enjoy the outdoors and enjoy the sites.   Either way we have a lot of laughs, see a lot of sites and yes, GOLF!

In 2013 Jim and I decided to challenge ourselves to 99 counties and we invited Shirley Griffin to join in the fun with us.

First county course off our list was Adair, 5 by 80 on 4/27/13.  Tim Howser joined us and will join us in many more courses to follow.    Nothing really stood out about this course, it had a few challenging holes but nothing else that would make me go back.   We visited the Freedom Rock about 1/2 mile south of the golf course and enjoyed that very much.   So much detail on these pieces of work and now the same guy is painting one in every county.   I hope to see a few more in our travels.

After visiting the rock we went into Stuart to eat and seeing the old Rock Island depot made me think of dad so had to get a pic.

May 17, 2013 - Guthrie County, Lake Panorama

June 1, 2013 - Colfax Country Club - Jasper County   Best part of this outing was the lunch we had after golf in Colfax.   Was a bit rainy out on the course but we were able to get in all 18.    Tim joined us for the golf but sure missed out on the lunch.   We ate at Papa Georgioz in town and the salads and pizza were great!   Worth the drive to come back and eat here again.

June 29, 2013 - Osceola Golf & Country Club - Clarke County
